Passivation aluminum, slowing down or preventing oxidation altogether is the purpose of the treatment

What does it consist of

Bama offers a state-of-the-art aluminium passivation treatment, thanks to the advanced technologies it can count on within its production site.

Aluminium passivation allows this extremely ductile material to be used in a wide variety of contexts.

Unlike stainless steel, aluminium does not naturally have protection against corrosion.

For this reason, induced passivation is necessary in all cases.

The procedure followed for aluminium passivation follows the same steps as for stainless steel and other metal alloys, and can be applied to objects of all sizes.

What are the benefits

Aluminium passivation is a very important process both in an isolated way and as part of a series of treatments that include, for example, pickling first and then electropolishing.

In the latter case, the aluminium passivation also favours the adhesion of any painting.

Slow down or prevent oxidation altogether is therefore the aim of the aluminium passivation treatment.

Together with the previous degreasing and pickling treatments, it is the best system to remove any impurities from an aluminium surface and give it the protection it needs for its use in the commercial sector.

Tools used for passivation aluminum are therefore the tanks containing acid solutions in which objects are immersed and special guns or brushes for a manual application of solutions or gels, technique adopted in the case of very small objects or with shapes that make it difficult to reach all points.

The solutions are composed of nitric acid and water, and can be used both at room temperature and heated.

In the latter case, it is important to take appropriate measures to secure the site and the technicians who work there.

In this regard, Bama uses its resources in the continuous improvement of its standards in terms of safety and protection of employees and machinery.

Passivating

For passivation treatments in stainless steel, aluminium, carbon steel, copper, nickel, zirconium and titanium, Bama uses a substance called passivating, which differs according to the material being treated.
